Mesys AutoPellet Air Wood Pellet Furnace
Reduce your carbon footprint and save on your heating costs.
The MESys AutoPellet Air is the world‘s finest fully-automated warm air wood pellet furnace. The AutoPellet Air is a standalone system and is designed to meet the heat demands of households and many commercial and municipal buildings.
AutoPellet Touch Screen
The MESys AutoPellet Air is now available with a touch screen controller for remote internet monitoring. The newly designed AutoPellet Touch is a modern touchscreen interface with a clear color display enabling quick and intuitive navigation. Track your furnace’s performance, fuel consumption, and receive email alerts when it’s time to empty your ash bin.
The MESys AutoPellet wood pellet boiler is effortless to use and is ideal for central heating and domestic hot water. The AutoPellet is a fully-automated standalone system designed to meet the demands of households, businesses, municipal buildings and institutions.
Ash disposal, the easy way.
AutoPellet = Auto Ash Removal
Pellet ash is automatically removed and compressed into a specially designed container to be emptied by an easy one-to two-minute process about four times a year in a residential home.
This is a quick, clean and easy task and the ash is great for your lawn or garden.
PELLET HEATING WITH STIRLING ENGINE (Pellematic e-max)
Consumer-oriented and sustainable production of electricity and heat play a major role not only in the private sector. Also in the larger power range is increasingly set to the on-site production of energy-efficient and simultaneous production of electricity and heat.
For this reason the project “Pellematic e-max – the electricity generating pellets heating for the medium power range” has been started with the goal to supply larger buildings with a high heat demand, with electricity and heat from pellets.
Structure of the electricity generating pellet heating
To integrate the Qnergy Stirling engine an own pellet boiler was designed which should gradually be adapted to the needs of the stirling engine. This pellet boiler has roughly a thermal output of 50 kW while providing an electrical output of about 4-5 kW.
To ensure a proper operation and the highest possible electricity yield it is important to keep the combustion conditions in the combustion chamber as constant as possible. For this reason a separate concept was developed for the regular incoming flow of the Stirling engine, which is designed to ensure that the Stirling engine is evenly supplied from all sides with heat.
In the future this pellet boiler with integrated Stirling engine shall be used especially in the mid-power range in interaction with other boilers. This electricity generating pellet boiler, which is designed for base load applications, should be used especially in larger buildings. In this field of application very high runtimes, related with a high anual energy yield, can be achieved.
These factors have a significantly positive effect on the payback time of the entire system. At steady energy prices and the use Pellematic e-max as base load boiler it can be relatively quick to achieve this payback rate. Pellematic e-max can be integrated as base load boiler in a cascade connection but also is available as sole heat source in multi-family houses or similar buildings.
Advantages of the Project Pellematic e-max
QNERGY STIRLING ENGINE
The hermetically sealed free-piston Stirling engine of the company Qnergy works with helium as driving gas. The heat supplied from the wood pellets leads to a piston movement in the interior of the Stirling engine. This allows up to 5 kW of electrical power, completely maintenance-free and environmentally friendly. Depending of the heat supply or the temperature in the combuston chamber, the Stirling engine modulates ist electric capacity and adapts to the requirements.
The produced electric power needs to be rectified. The conversion of DC to AC (50 Hz) and the later three-phase feed into the public grid is carried out by an inverter from the company Fronius.
How it works
1. The head of the Stirling engine is heated with the flame of the wood pellets. This heat is then transferred to the working fluid of the Stirling engine (helium). This heating leads to a pressure increase.
2. With the heat supply and the cooling of the Stirling engine in the cooling circuit, a temperature and pressure difference is generated. Through this temperature difference, the helium in the Stirling engine expands and contracts again and thereby, the piston is set in motion and moves up and down.
3. This movement is converted by the linear generator directly inside the Stirling engine into electrical energy.
Further information
MESys AutoPellet boilers can be staged in parallel for large-scale heating applications. Savings are likely to be substantial for Staged Systems providing up to 765 MBtu / hr.
Efficiency for large heating applications.
Staged Systems run more efficiently than a single large boiler system because individual wood pellet boilers can be added or removed from service automatically, ensuring that at lower heat requirements the system is running at high efficiency. Large single boilers spend most of their life cycle operating at a lower heat outputs than designed for and offer substantially lower efficiencies in the field because of this.
The MESys Pelletronic control system is used to stage boilers and automatically splits the amount of up-time between boilers during off-peak heating, ensuring the longest possible life cycle of each individual boiler in the Staged System.
The MESys Energy Box is a complete self-contained heating system suitable for almost any application. Each Energy Box contains wood pellet storage, MESys AutoPellet boiler(s), flue and fuel supply system.
Plug and play heating made simple.
The MESys Energy box is an ideal solution for municipalities, school districts and commercial applications where where indoor space is limited, the Energy Box is also applicable for temporary buildings as the entire unit can easily be relocated to another site with minimal work.
The Energy Box is delivered, ready for installation, by truck and is connected to the
The complete self-contained heating system.
A) MESys AutoPellet Boilers
The MESys Energy Box contains one to four MESys AutoPellet boilers depending on the heating demand. Staged AutoPellet systems run more efficiently than a single large boiler system because smaller individual boilers can be added or removed from service automatically, ensuring that at lower heat requirements the system is running at high efficiency. Large institutional boilers spend most of their life cycle operating at a lower heat outputs than they are designed for and offer substantially lower efficiencies because of this.
B) Self-Contained Pellet Fuel Storage
Wood pellet fuel is stored seperate from the boiler compartment within the MESys Energy Box. Standard sized Energy Boxes can accommodate 9 – 15 tons of fuel.
Multiple sizes and options available.
